Beyoncé marked her B’Day in the most delightful manner. A source disclosed to PEOPLE that the 42-year-old superstar took a break from her Renaissance World Tour to relish a “lovely family getaway in celebration of her birthday.”

The Grammy-winning artist, who is wedded to JAY-Z, 53, and is the mother of daughter Blue Ivy, 11, as well as six-year-old twins, daughter Rumi and son Sir, with the rapper, chose French Polynesia as the destination for their vacation, staying at The Brando Resort.

“It was a much-needed respite for Beyoncé,” the source informed PEOPLE. “The tour has been demanding, and she needed a few days to recharge.”

The insider revealed that the family opted to “rent several private villas” during their stay, dedicating significant time to bonding. They elaborated, stating, “They relished the beach, shared family meals, and participated in various resort activities. It was a fantastic time for everyone.”

According to reports, the “Break My Soul” artist embarked on this family trip immediately after her birthday concert at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles on September 4th. They made it back in time for her to resume the North American leg of her tour in Vancouver on September 11th. TMZ was the first to report on this news.

Queen Bey’s 42nd birthday festivities commenced on stage during the final performance of her three Renaissance shows in Los Angeles. At this remarkable show, Kendrick Lamar joined the renowned artist to deliver their collaboration, the live debut of “AMERICAN HAS A PROBLEM (REMIX).” Moreover, Diana Ross made a surprise appearance to serenade her with a rendition of “Happy Birthday.”

Captured by fans in footage, the “Formation” singer appeared both elated and deeply moved by the surprise visit from the 79-year-old music industry icon.

The Renaissance World Tour marks the performer’s return to touring, her first solo headlining tour since the 2016 Formation World Tour, and her first tour since the 2018 On the Run II Tour, which she co-headlined with her husband.

This epic tour, spanning two and a half hours, commenced its North American leg in July. It has been breaking records along the way and is set to continue through September, concluding on October 1st in Kansas City, Missouri.
