Ariana Grande Addresses Talk of New Music, Admitting She’d “Need Another Brain” to Work on an Album Now

Grande addressed her remarks about possible new music by posting a clarification on Instagram following an interview with Variety.
Fans hoping for new Ariana Grande music will need to be patient.
The Grammy-winning singer and actress recently spoke with Variety about her role in the hit Wicked film series, her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour, and whether she plans to release new music anytime soon. According to Grande, fresh material isn’t on the immediate horizon.
With her tour set to begin in June, Grande made it clear that no new songs or albums will arrive beforehand. She emphasized that nothing is scheduled for release before May and jokingly addressed fans’ expectations, suggesting there seems to be a belief that another version of her exists with enough time to write an entire album. While she reassured fans she appreciates their enthusiasm, she stressed that now simply isn’t the moment.
Grande last released an album, Eternal Sunshine, in March 2024, followed by a deluxe edition roughly a year later. Since then, much of her focus has been on promoting Wicked: For Good, which premiered in theaters in November.
After the Variety interview circulated online, Grande took to Instagram to clear up what she felt was a misrepresentation of her remarks. Commenting on a fan account’s post, she pointed out that she never referenced specific timelines or said new music was coming “soon,” adding humorously that there must have been some sort of misunderstanding.
She doubled down in another comment, joking that creating a new album right now would require an additional brain — and a few extra arms — to manage everything on her plate.
Beyond music, Grande has several acting projects lined up. She is set to appear in the upcoming comedy Focker In-Law, scheduled for release in November 2026, will star in season 13 of American Horror Story, and is also voicing a character in the animated adaptation of Oh, the Places You’ll Go!, alongside Josh Gad.
