Ariana Grande Reflects on Emotional Journey as Eternal Sunshine Tour’s North American Run Ends

The Grammy-winning singer completed the North American leg on Thursday, Aug. 6, following the third of three performances at Chicago’s United Center. After the show, Grande took to Instagram to celebrate the end of the tour’s North American run and thank those who supported her along the way.
Grande described the past several months as an especially meaningful period, expressing how grateful she was for the love and support she received from fans. She also said she would hold on to the memories created during the tour and gave a special thank-you to her Chicago audience.
The singer is now preparing for the final portion of the tour, with 10 performances scheduled at London’s O2 Arena through Sept. 1. Grande told her London fans that she is looking forward to seeing them and expressed her continued love and appreciation for her supporters.
Her North American shows concluded shortly after her representative confirmed that Grande plans to reduce her public-facing activities following the London dates. According to her representative, the singer intends to complete the tour before taking an extended break from public appearances and work that has subjected her to ongoing scrutiny.
The representative described the tour as a positive and meaningful experience for Grande, emphasizing how much she has enjoyed performing for her fans.
Grande has also stepped away from another upcoming project. She will no longer be part of the planned West End revival of Stephen Sondheim’s Sunday in the Park with George, which was expected to reunite her with her Wicked costar Jonathan Bailey at London’s Barbican Centre next summer.
The developments come amid increased public attention surrounding Grande’s appearance and well-being, particularly following the release of her “Petal” music video on July 31.
During her Chicago performance on Aug. 3, Grande addressed her decision to take a break from public-facing work. She explained to the audience that the plan was not made suddenly or as an emotional reaction, but rather had been considered and arranged privately well in advance.
