Beyoncé Assists Couple in Revealing Baby’s Gender During Heartwarming Onstage Moment at Cowboy Carter Tour

Beyoncé once again made a couple’s wish come true by helping reveal the gender of their baby during her Cowboy Carter Tour.
On the fourth night of her MetLife Stadium concert in New Jersey, the 43-year-old singer scanned the crowd, reading various signs. She spotted one that caught her attention and said into the microphone, “First born, Carter. Gender reveal. Right now? I’ll be back,” before stepping offstage, as fans captured the moment on video.
The couple’s surprise wasn’t lost. After changing from a red leather outfit into a black jumpsuit with American flag-themed flared pants, Beyoncé returned and kept her promise. “I’m going to take my time,” the mother of three said before taking the envelope from the couple. The camera zoomed in on the paper she held, which had “COWBOY” written in black and blue.
“It’s a boy! God bless you. Congratulations,” she announced to cheers from the audience. “Thank you so much for letting me be part of this.” Several videos of the event circulated on social media on May 28, including one shared by Beyoncé’s mother, Tina Knowles.
“Wow!!!! Who does a gender reveal when they’re wet and cold? I was like, ‘Girl, you’re gonna get sick,’” Tina, 71, wrote in the caption of a fan-recorded clip.
This wasn’t Beyoncé’s first time assisting with a gender reveal on tour. In July 2023, during a stop at Cologne’s RheinEnergieStadion in Germany on her Renaissance World Tour, she paused the show after noticing a fan’s sign requesting her help.
“I want to do this right because I’ve been seeing this sign that says ‘Do my gender reveal’ since the start of the show,” she said. “Do I have to open the envelope?”
“Can someone please hand me the envelope?” Beyoncé asked. Then, mimicking the style of her 2011 hit “Run the World (Girls),” she declared, “Girl.” She ended with congratulations, “Congratulations! Congratulations, beautiful! God bless you!”
Beyoncé’s latest gender reveal moment happened shortly after her mother, Tina, revealed how her superstar daughter likes to relax away from the stage.
In a May 20 interview on SiriusXM’s Andy Cohen Live, Tina spoke about Beyoncé’s way of “getting lit.”
“For her, ‘lit’ means spending time with her kids,” Tina said, referring to Beyoncé’s three children — Blue Ivy, 13, and twins Rumi and Sir, 7½, with husband Jay-Z. “It might sound cliché, but that’s the honest truth.”
She added, “They dance, party, and have fun together with her husband. She keeps a close-knit circle of friends.”
“We really let loose when we get together,” Tina explained. “We kinda go wild.”
