Britney Spears has hit back at Ozzy Osbourne after he voiced his frustration with her dancing videos. On Wednesday, July 17, Spears, 42, addressed Osbourne’s comments in a lengthy Instagram post. Osbourne, 75, had expressed his displeasure about seeing “poor old Britney Spears on YouTube” during the July 16 episode of The Osbournes Podcast. Sharon Osbourne, 71, clarified that her husband was referring to Spears’ dancing, while Kelly Osbourne expressed sympathy, saying, “I feel so sorry for her.”
In her Instagram post, Spears also responded to Kate Beckinsale’s recent comments defending herself against critics of her age-appropriate activities. Spears declared, “I’m gonna do a photoshoot with Kate and tell the Osbourne family who is the most boring family known to mankind to kindly f— off !!!”
The “Toxic” hitmaker began the post by praising Beckinsale’s 2001 movie Serendipity, saying she adores the actress, 50, “especially because she’s from London,” calling Beckinsale “badass” for responding the way she did on Instagram.
“I know what it’s like to be judged so it’s a ridiculous and stupid subject initially but I think it’s important to HELP EACH OTHER and invite each other to places that help our souls grow !!!” she added, claiming that she’d been teaching a dance class for teenagers.
The musician criticized those who comment on the appropriateness of her and Beckinsale’s content, acknowledging that there are “incredibly cruel people” out there. She emphasized the importance of being “extremely careful” about who is allowed into one’s circle and heart.
Spears’ remarks follow Kate Beckinsale’s Instagram video posted on Monday, July 8. In the clip, the Underworld star showcased her outfit, which included pink bikini bottoms, a matching off-the-shoulder crop top, and black platform knee-high boots.
Beckinsale addressed how some people “get upset” and criticize her for not engaging in “age-appropriate” activities while talking to someone off-camera. She added, “I thought I’d let them start their week with a little bit of joy, with me putting on a hair net.”
Beckinsale concluded with a playful challenge: “So for those of you who are gonna get off on this, have a look, bitches.” She captioned the post with a toast to her critics: “Let’s have a toast for the douche bags / Let’s have a toast for the assholes / Let’s have a toast for the scumbags 😘😘😘😘.”
