Bruno Mars Becomes a SkyTrain Voice During Vancouver Concert Run

By Dana Brooks

Bruno Mars has always had a way of making a room feel a little brighter. In Vancouver this month, that voice is reaching beyond the stage and into the daily rhythm of the city.

According to Rolling Stone Canada, Mars has lent his voice to special announcements for Vancouver’s SkyTrain during his five-show run at BC Place. Starting October 14, 2026, passengers passing through Stadium–Chinatown Station will hear two prerecorded messages from the singer.

It is a small touch, but a memorable one: the kind of detail that turns a commute into part of the concert experience.

A first for SkyTrain

Rolling Stone Canada reported that the announcements are part of a collaboration between TransLink and Warner Music Canada. The partnership makes Mars the first musical artist to become a celebrity guest voice on SkyTrain.

The messages are timed to match Mars’ Vancouver concert dates on October 14, 16, 17, 20 and 21, 2026. For anyone moving through Stadium–Chinatown Station during that stretch, the trip comes with a little extra star power.

There is something fitting about that. Mars’ music has long lived in the sweet spot between modern pop polish and old-school showmanship. Hearing him pop up in a transit announcement has the feel of a classic radio drop, the kind that makes listeners look up and smile because they recognize the voice right away.

A record-setting BC Place stretch

The SkyTrain takeover comes during a major Vancouver milestone. Billboard Canada reported that Mars’ five BC Place shows are the most nights by any artist on a single tour in the stadium’s history.

Billboard Canada also reported that the Vancouver run is the second and final Canadian stop on The Romantic Tour, following Toronto in May 2026.

That gives the Vancouver dates a little added weight. They are not just another stop on the itinerary; they close out Mars’ Canadian run, and they do it with a residency-style stretch at one of the city’s major venues.

Music meeting the city

Concerts have always had a way of spilling into the world around them. Sometimes it is a crowd humming a chorus on the way home. Sometimes it is the glow around a venue on show night. In this case, it is Bruno Mars’ voice woven into the sound of the SkyTrain.

For TransLink riders, the announcements are brief. For fans, they may become one of those small moments that sticks: a reminder of where they were, what they were heading to, or what song was already playing in their head.

And for Kool 94.5 listeners, it is another reminder that a great voice can make even the everyday ride feel like part of the show.
