Céline Dion Says a Rihanna Hit “Should Have Been Hers” and Shows Off a Spot-On Metallica Impression

Céline Dion is proving her playlist spans far beyond one genre.
The Canadian icon gave fans a playful look at her music picks on Friday, Feb. 6, sharing a lighthearted Instagram video in which she walked through some of the songs she’s currently loving.
“I’m Céline, and this is what’s on my playlist,” the 57-year-old said with a laugh, adding that she could only share a small selection because there are so many artists she adores.
One of the first tracks she mentioned was Rihanna’s “Love on the Brain,” joking that the hit felt like it should have been hers — while still praising Rihanna’s performance.
Dion went on to name Lauren Daigle’s “You Say” and Guy Sebastian’s “Before I Go,” even teasing Sebastian by asking whether he writes music for other artists.
Her list also took a heavier turn when she brought up Metallica’s “Until It Sleeps.” Dion explained that one of her twin sons, Eddy, is a huge fan of the band, prompting her to launch into a spot-on — and very funny — Metallica-style impression.
She rounded out the playlist with nods to James Blunt’s “You’re Beautiful” and Celeste’s “Stop This Flame,” suggesting she’d love to collaborate with them in the future.
The video arrives just weeks after Dion leaned into her influencer moment with a humorous “What’s in My Bag” Instagram post, where she emptied out her Dior Toujours Tote. Among the essentials were a handheld fan for the Las Vegas heat, dog food, Mentos, hand sanitizer, and her go-to Byredo Blanche hand cream.
At one point, Dion pulled out a microphone, explaining it comes in handy for spontaneous renditions of “Happy Birthday.” She also showed off something she admitted takes a bit of nerve to carry around — her own VIP concert badge.
Dion joked that she keeps it on hand because people sometimes question whether it’s really her when she’s out shopping, adding that she’s even pretended to call 911 on an old landline phone to prove her identity.
During the holiday season, Dion also shared a heartfelt message thanking fans for their continued support, telling them they remain close to her heart as she wished everyone a happy new year.
