Chaka Khan and Snoop Dogg Bring the Energy with New Collaboration “Boogie’s in My Soul”
Chaka Khan and Snoop Dogg have teamed up for a lively new track that invites listeners to celebrate and dance.
The music icons released “Boogie’s in My Soul” on Friday, June 19, marking the second single from Khan’s upcoming album Chakzilla. Along with the song, Khan also revealed the album’s official artwork and announced its release date.
The upbeat dance-pop track begins with Snoop Dogg’s version of the famous “Chaka Khan” chant originally featured in Khan’s 1984 hit “I Feel for You.” The song delivers an inspiring message, encouraging people to embrace their individuality and let their inner light shine.
In a statement, Snoop, 54, said the song carries a lasting energy that listeners can feel deeply, encouraging them to allow the music to become part of them.
The single arrived with a music video featuring Khan, 73, and Snoop performing together before an enthusiastic audience. The visual also highlights scenes of people dancing and enjoying the upbeat atmosphere created by the two performers.
Khan’s upcoming album Chakzilla is scheduled to arrive on Friday, Sept. 18, through EarthSong Records and BMG. The project follows the release of the album’s first single, “Chakzilla,” which debuted exclusively with PEOPLE last month.
Describing the inspiration behind the album, Khan said the record focuses on happiness, self-love, connection, and discovering personal strength regardless of life circumstances. The project will also include collaborations with artists such as Sia and Lenny Kravitz.
The 11-time Grammy winner and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee explained that the new music reflects the experiences she has gained since releasing her previous album, Hello Happiness, in 2019.
She added that the record is about celebrating life, embracing who we are, feeling joy, and recognizing the power within ourselves.
