Demi Lovato Encourages Fans to “Make Out, Have Fun, and Stay Safe” While Debuting New Song “Kiss” at L.A.’s National PrEP Day Celebration

The pop star released her latest single, “Kiss,” on Friday, October 10, accompanied by a sultry new music video.
Demi Lovato shared a special “Kiss” with fans during a night of music and advocacy.
The 33-year-old singer appeared at MISTR’s inaugural National PrEP Day celebration, held Thursday, October 9, at The Abbey in West Hollywood.
At one point during the event, Lovato joined Diplo in the DJ booth and premiered her latest single, “Kiss,” which officially dropped the next day, October 10, along with its steamy music video. “Let’s make out, have fun, and be safe with MISTR!” she told the cheering crowd.
The evening also featured a high-energy performance from Dua Lipa, who took the stage fresh off a four-night run in Los Angeles, performing hits like “New Rules,” “Don’t Start Now,” and “Houdini.”
Hosted by Bob the Drag Queen, the star-studded celebration drew big names including Cardi B, Tamar Braxton, Kim Petras, Matt Bomer, NeNe Leakes, Cynthia Bailey, Omar Apollo, Shea Couleé, and Colton Underwood, among others.
Thursday’s event wrapped up a 10-day national campaign to encourage 10,000 new people to start using PrEP by Friday, October 10. PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) is a daily pill or biannual injection that can reduce the risk of HIV transmission by up to 99%.
MISTR founder and CEO Tristan Schukraft told PEOPLE, “We have the power to end HIV. The tools are already here. Taking PrEP means taking charge of your sexual health — just like the birth control pill did for women. By using PrEP, you’re helping bring an end to the epidemic.”
Speaking on the blue carpet, Demi Lovato shared why attending the National PrEP Day event was so meaningful to her and why spreading awareness matters.
“MISTR is doing amazing work for the community,” Lovato told Getty. “Health care should be both accessible and affordable for everyone, especially when it involves life-saving medication like PrEP.” She continued, “It’s so important that we have open conversations about sexual health so we can protect one another — and the queer community has been incredible at leading that effort.”
Reflecting on the night, Lovato added, “It’s truly inspiring to see people come together to educate, entertain, and uplift each other. That’s exactly what we need more of right now.”
