Elton John makes his first appearance on Saturday Night Live in more than ten years, joining Brandi Carlile for a performance despite his ongoing battle with vision loss.

The two artists showcased “Little Richard’s Bible” and “Who Believes in Angels?” from their latest album during the performance.

Elton John and Brandi Carlile proved to be an incredible pairing during their appearance as musical guests on Saturday Night Live on April 5, with Jack Black hosting.

For their first performance, John, 78, and Carlile, 43, delivered “Little Richard’s Bible” from their newly released joint album, Who Believes in Angels?

Later in the episode, the duo returned to the Studio 8H stage to perform the title track of their latest LP.

John’s appearance on SNL was his first in over ten years, with his last appearance dating back to April 2011, when he served as both host and musical guest. Prior to that, the “Your Song” singer performed as the musical guest for the first time in April 1982.

Carlile, on the other hand, made her third appearance on the show. She previously performed as the musical guest in October 2021 and again in December 2022.

John’s SNL appearance also came during a challenging period for his health. Last year, the singer revealed on Instagram that he had contracted an infection, which led to a loss of vision in his right eye.

In a subsequent interview with Good Morning America, he explained that the infection occurred while he was spending the summer in the south of France.
