Britney Spears’ latest Instagram activity has stirred concern among her followers.

On Tuesday, August 19, the pop icon uploaded a video of herself singing Rihanna’s “Unfaithful” — at times slipping into a British accent — while the camera revealed a cluttered backdrop inside her home. The post quickly sparked conversation online.

“Messing around with lighting and cleaning my house like no tomorrow,” Spears wrote in the caption. In the clip, she appears in a polka dot crop top and pink shorts as she belts out the 2006 hit.

One user wrote, “how are people not more concerned about Britney Spears and the stuff she posts on instagram.”

Others, however, defended the singer’s behavior. One fan commented, “People need to realize Britney Spears is trolling us lol she’s giving us 2007 in 2025: you wanna say I’m crazy? I’ll show you crazy. She doesn’t need, nor want, society’s approval. She hates society, we f—ed her over. Her Instagram makes me smile cause I see what she’s doing.”

Following the viral video, Spears went on to post a series of unrelated updates — including a picture of bird figurines in a shop, a cartoon illustration of a creature surrounded by bows and hearts, and a short clip of herself modeling a dress at home with a smile.

Just last week, the Gimme More star uploaded a dance video set to Janet Jackson’s “Any Time, Any Place,” wearing a gold dress. At one point, she exposed her chest, later covering her nipples with flower emojis.

Earlier in August, Spears also revealed she was working on two fiction novels, describing writing as “the best therapy I could ask for.” She added at the time: “I’ve felt like half the world was shady to me for some reason energetically, and I think it’s because I stopped dreaming the way I used to, and I had no spiritual connection.”
