Halsey Reflects on ‘Inspiring’ and ‘Painful’ Past Decade After Celebrating 30th Birthday with Avan Jogia and Friends

Halsey spoke about feeling as though “the only reason I’d have all these people in a room with me at the same time would be” for her funeral

Happy 30th birthday, Halsey!

The “Ego” singer (who uses she/they pronouns) celebrated her 30th year around the sun on Sept. 29 with a party attended by her fiancé Avan Jogia and many other friends. Two days later, she posted a reflective note to Instagram about the highs and lows of the last decade of her life.

“My life has gone through inexplicable changes the past decade. Some beautiful and awe inspiring, some puzzling and painful,” wrote Halsey, who was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus and rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder over the last two years.
