Jamie Spears Wants Britney Spears Financial Objections Thrown Out and Upcoming Trial Canceled

Jamie wants a judge to cancel their May 13, 2024 trial

The legal disputes between Britney Spears and her father, Jamie, continue.

On Tuesday, April 30, Jamie, 71, filed a motion for summary judgment pertaining to financial objections from the 42-year-old singer’s previous conservatorship in an effort to avoid proceeding with a trial, per court documents obtained by PEOPLE.

“Jamie brings this motion because there are no triable issues of material fact and Jamie is entitled to judgment as a matter of law on Britney’s Objections,” reads the filing. 

He is seeking a summary judgment regarding Britney’s objections — compensation to Tri Star Sports & Entertainment and payment of attorneys’ fees to Sidley Austin LLP — both of which were made while Jamie was her conservator.

Along with Britney’s two objections, Jamie is seeking a judgment regarding her three requests for more information: accounting compensation to Tri Star Sports & Entertainment, payment of rent for storage space and investment valuation differences.
