Jennifer Lopez Flicks Giant Cricket Away After It Climbs Up Her Dress During Performance: ‘It Was Tickling Me’

The singer experienced the unexpected insect encounter while performing in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Aug. 10.

Jennifer Lopez proved nothing can throw her off her game — not even a surprise insect encounter mid-song.

The 56-year-old performer was on stage in Almaty, Kazakhstan, on Aug. 10 for her Up All Night: Live in 2025 tour when a large cricket made its way up her dress. As she sang into the microphone, the bug climbed from her torso to her neck.

Without missing a beat, the mother of two calmly plucked the cricket from her skin and tossed it aside, smiling as she told the audience, “It was tickling me,” before seamlessly continuing her set.

Video of the lighthearted moment, shared by Lopez’s official fan account, came with a cheeky caption: “Plot twist: @JLo just started rehearsals for Kiss of the Cricket Woman… on stage… in real time. 😂💋🦗.” The joke referenced her upcoming film Kiss of the Spider Woman, a new screen adaptation of the 1993 Broadway musical due out this fall.

Fans praised Lopez’s composure, with comments calling her “always a professional” and “so cool under pressure,” while others admitted they would have panicked.

This wasn’t the only unexpected mishap during her tour — on July 25 in Warsaw, Poland, a glittery skirt she was wearing suddenly came undone and fell to the stage mid-performance, though she continued without pause.

The chart-topper handled the wardrobe slip with confidence, flashing a wide smile and strutting across the stage with her arms raised. She even twirled playfully, as seen in video clips posted to her official YouTube channel and by fans on Instagram.

“I’m out here in my underwear,” Lopez quipped as a dancer brought her the fallen skirt and tried to help her back into it. “That’s gonna be everywhere.”

Reflecting on the moment, she added, “I’m glad they reinforced that costume — and that I had underwear on. I don’t usually wear underwear.”
