Jennifer Lopez recently gave a select group of fans an exclusive preview of her latest music.
On Wednesday, July 2, the Grammy-nominated artist welcomed 30 of her most dedicated fans from Los Angeles to a private listening event, PEOPLE confirms.
The 55-year-old performer debuted six brand-new songs during the event — five of which were high-energy tracks titled “Up All Night,” “Regular,” “Free,” “Save Me Tonight,” and “Birthday.” She also unveiled an emotional ballad, “Wreckage of You.”
Lopez, who took the stage at the LuisaViaRoma for UNICEF gala in Capri, Italy on July 30, co-wrote the ballad just two weeks prior to the fan gathering, according to attendee Edgardo Luis Rivera, who spoke to Us Weekly.
Rivera shared that Lopez, who finalized her divorce from Ben Affleck last year, explained the inspiration behind the song. “She said she kept coming back to the word ‘wreck’ — which symbolizes destruction — but emphasized that she herself wasn’t destroyed,” Rivera recalled. “In fact, one of the lyrics says, ‘I’m stronger after the wreckage of you.’”
In addition to debuting her new music, Lopez surprised the lucky attendees with tickets to her upcoming New Year’s Eve show in Las Vegas. Fans also received gift bags filled with merchandise, including JLo Beauty products, autographed posters, and T-shirts.
Rivera posted about the experience on Instagram, writing, “I’m still in shock — @jlo just gave us all a pair of tickets to her #UpAllNight Las Vegas residency on New Year’s Eve! O-M-G. Thank you!!!!!”
Earlier this year, on May 26, Lopez announced her return to Las Vegas for a new residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.
