Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were recently spotted sharing a meal in Montreal, just a month after Perry ended her engagement to Orlando Bloom, PEOPLE has learned.
On Monday, July 28, Perry, 40, and Trudeau, 53, dined at local restaurant Le Violon. According to PEOPLE, the pair met with Chef Danny Smiles during the evening and visited the kitchen after their dinner to personally thank the staff.
TMZ reported that the two enjoyed cocktails and a variety of dishes, including a lobster-based entrée.
A representative for Perry has not provided any comments, and PEOPLE has also reached out to Trudeau for a statement.
Back in June, it was confirmed by PEOPLE that Perry and Bloom, 48, had ended their engagement, concluding a nine-year relationship marked by intermittent breakups. The split came six years after Bloom had proposed.
Shortly after the announcement, representatives for the former couple issued a statement to PEOPLE, explaining that they had been gradually redefining their relationship in recent months to prioritize co-parenting.
They emphasized that both Perry and Bloom remain committed to raising their 4½-year-old daughter, Daisy Dove, together and would maintain a united front for her well-being.
Despite the breakup, the two were seen on July 6 vacationing off Italy’s Amalfi Coast on a yacht with Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos.
As for Trudeau, he and his wife Sophie Grégoire revealed their separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They have three children — Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11 — and described their split as amicable.
Trudeau shared the news on Instagram at the time, posting in both English and French: “Hi everyone, Sophie and I want to let you know that after many meaningful and difficult conversations, we’ve decided to separate.”
