Katy Perry Brings Back a 17-Year-Old Dress During U.K. Show to Support Her Firework Foundation Charity Campaign

The singer is offering fans the opportunity to win iconic outfits from her 2008 Warped Tour and 2009 Hello Katy Tour archive.

Katy Perry is giving some of her most memorable stage outfits a second life to help support a meaningful cause.

The 41-year-old singer has launched a 21-day sweepstakes featuring pieces from her personal concert wardrobe, with proceeds benefiting the Firework Foundation, the nonprofit she established in 2018 to provide arts education and creative opportunities for children in underserved communities.

As part of the campaign, Perry revisited one of her vintage stage looks during her June 30 performance at Cardiff Castle in Cardiff, Wales.

Sharing highlights from the show on Instagram, the “Roar” hitmaker posted photos of herself wearing the red-and-white polka dot bra top and matching skirt she originally debuted during the Capital Summertime Ball on July 7, 2009.

The post also featured side-by-side clips showing the outfit’s return more than a decade later. According to Fandiem, the platform hosting the fundraiser, the ensemble is valued at approximately $1,000.

The giveaway also includes three additional costumes from Perry’s 2009 Hello Katy Tour. She has already worn those archival pieces again during recent performances in Dublin, Lisbon, Portugal, and Santiago de Compostela, Spain. Throughout her upcoming Out of Office Tour festival dates across Europe, Perry plans to unveil another classic outfit at each stop.

Perry founded the Firework Foundation alongside her older sister, Angela Lerche. Speaking with PEOPLE in 2024, the Grammy-nominated performer reflected on the financial hardships she experienced growing up.

She shared that her family relied on food assistance programs and food banks, and recalled busking as a teenager in hopes of earning enough money to get by.

Lerche, who serves as the foundation’s president, said those experiences help the organization connect with the young people it serves. She noted that Perry’s success came through years of determination rather than privilege, reminding campers that big dreams are possible regardless of their background.

In recent years, the nonprofit has welcomed more than 400 middle school students to Camp Firework, where participants explore their creativity through activities such as songwriting, footwear design, and dance choreography.
