In the latest release from Katy Perry’s upcoming album 143, set to drop on September 20, the pop star shares a dramatic scene where she makes out with a man while skydiving. The music video for “I’m His, He’s Mine” features this thrilling moment among its dynamic visuals.
Katy Perry delivered a high-energy performance in the music video for her track “I’m His, He’s Mine,” featuring Doechii. Released on Friday, September 13, the video is a visual spectacle from her upcoming album 143.
Directed by Torso, the video kicks off with Perry, 39, skydiving and sharing a mid-air kiss with a man. It then transitions to a scene where Perry, clad in a metallic bikini, dances atop a silver Corvette speeding through Barcelona. She performs a daring slide down the car’s windshield and splits on the hood while singing. Meanwhile, Doechii delivers her part of the song while dancing in an elevator.
The video also features Perry being thrown off the car, landing in the arms of a handsome man, before reuniting with Doechii. The two engage in an intriguing floor crawl and then take to the skies, with Doechii soaring on a large drone while Perry enjoys multiple makeout scenes.
In the song “I’m His, He’s Mine,” Katy Perry sings, “I’m his queen, I’m his freak / I’m every woman he wants and needs / I’m his dream, I’m his drug / I’m every woman he wants, so what?” Before Doechii, 26, joins in with her lines: “I’m his boss, I’m that bitch / I’m every woman he knows exists / I’m his main, I’m his side / I’m every woman that’s in his mind.”
This release follows Katy Perry’s recent win of the Video Vanguard Award at the 2024 MTV VMAs on September 11.
Before receiving her Video Vanguard Award, Katy Perry gave an impressive nearly 10-minute performance at the 2024 MTV VMAs, featuring hits like “Dark Horse,” “E.T.,” “Teenage Dream,” “I Kissed a Girl,” “Firework,” and “Lifetimes.” Doechii also joined her onstage for the live debut of their collaboration “I’m His, He’s Mine.”
After accepting her award, Perry humorously noted that she had performed under challenging conditions, adding a lighthearted touch to her recognition.
