Katy Perry Performs “Wonder” for the First Time Alongside 10-Year-Old Norwegian Singer Tius at the FIFA World Cup 2026 Opening Ceremony.

SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles served as the venue for the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening celebration, which featured performances from top musical acts including Katy Perry, Tyla, Lisa, and other artists.
Katy Perry delivered a memorable performance during the opening celebration of the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Los Angeles.
The 41-year-old singer took the stage at SoFi Stadium on Friday, June 12, as one of the event’s featured performers, joining a star-studded lineup that included Anitta, Tyla, BLACKPINK’s Lisa, and other artists.
Perry performed her song “Wonder” from her 2024 album 143 alongside 10-year-old Norwegian vocalist Tius. With international flags surrounding the stage, the pop star dazzled the audience in a sparkling silver outfit from Stella McCartney’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection. The emotional performance ended with Perry lifting Tius as the crowd celebrated the special moment.
Before the event, Perry introduced Tius to her fans through an Instagram video, sharing the story behind their collaboration on the track.
“That little voice you’re hearing right now is Tius,” Perry wrote in the post.
Following their performance, Perry shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Tius backstage, writing, “Brought a little ‘Wonder’ to the @fifaworldcup in Los Angeles with @tiusluka✨⚽️”
The appearance marked the first live performance of “Wonder” by Perry. During the Tribeca Festival premiere of Katy Perry: The Lifetimes Tour — Live from Paris, she revealed that she would be performing a song she had never previously sung on stage.
The singer explained that the choice felt appropriate for the ceremony and teased that although the track was not new, she was excited to finally perform it live.
SoFi Stadium also hosted a special match-day celebration in Los Angeles, welcoming celebrities and soccer fans for the start of one of the world’s biggest sporting events. The gathering highlighted the connection between sports, music, and entertainment ahead of the USA vs. Paraguay match.
The U.S. men’s national team secured a dominant 4-1 win over Paraguay, with stars including Justin and Hailey Bieber, David Beckham, Tom Cruise, Chloe Bailey, Sterling K. Brown, and Dylan Efron among those attending the game.
The Los Angeles event was the final stop in the World Cup opening celebrations, following ceremonies held in Mexico City and Toronto on June 11. Mexico City’s celebration featured performances from Shakira and Burna Boy, who performed the official 2026 FIFA World Cup song “Dai Dai,” along with appearances from J Balvin, Danny Ocean, Los Angeles Azules, Maná, and more.
