The Queen of Pop hit the stage to perform for a sold-out crowd at Barclays Center Wednesday night

Madonna powered through technical challenges on Wednesday night as she kicked off the latest leg of her Celebration Tour.

Before performing to a sold-crowd of 14,000 fans at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center, the Queen of Pop, 65, faced “issues during soundcheck that caused the schedule to get delayed by an hour,” a source tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Though doors still opened just after 7:30 p.m. for fans, the pop icon was “sound-checking until the moment they did to work out the issues,” adds the source. (Despite reports she was three hours late, the source adds that the night’s schedule was only pushed by an hour.)
