Mariah Carey has broken her own record, celebrating her song “All I Want for Christmas Is You” as it continues its historic reign on the Hot 100. The iconic holiday track has maintained its dominance, marking another milestone in its record-breaking run.

On Monday, December 23, Billboard revealed that Mariah Carey’s iconic holiday song had set yet another record.

On Monday, December 23, the 55-year-old singer shared a photo of herself from Billboard‘s Instagram after learning that her holiday classic “All I Want for Christmas Is You” had topped the Hot 100 chart for a record-breaking 17th week.

“This is amazing!!!! Will never ever ever ever ever take this for granted,” Carey wrote in her Instagram Stories. “Merry early Christmas!!!!”

In the celebratory photo, Mariah Carey stuns in a figure-hugging red gown, surrounded by beautifully wrapped gifts beneath her Christmas trees.

Billboard also noted in their post that Carey has another song from the 1990s charting at No. 1, surpassing the 16-week reign of “One Sweet Day” by Boyz II Men, which held the spot in 1995-96.

Additionally, they shared that “All I Want for Christmas Is You,” which has been at the top of the Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks this holiday season, now holds the third-longest reign in the chart’s 66-year history.

The record-breaking track first debuted in 1994 on Mariah Carey’s Merry Christmas album.

According to Billboard, it first entered the top 10 of their Hot 100 chart in December 2017, before breaking into the top five a year later. In 2019, it reached No. 1 during the holiday season, where it stayed for three weeks.

Since then, the song has remained a holiday favorite. It topped the charts for two weeks in 2020, three weeks in 2021, four weeks in 2022, and two weeks in 2023.
