Mariah Carey Playfully Complains About ‘Hideous’ Overhead Lighting in Hilarious Clip: ‘Please Stop It!’

Carey shared her thoughts on overhead lighting during an upcoming episode of iHeart’s Las Culturistas Podcast.
Mariah Carey isn’t a fan of overhead lighting!
In a clip from an upcoming episode of iHeart Radio’s Las Culturistas Podcast, the iconic 55-year-old singer expressed her aversion to the harsh lighting commonly found in public places.
“I can’t deal with the overhead lighting,” she remarked. “Why do they do this to us? I shouldn’t say ‘us’; it’s really just me.”
She further explained, “I’m the one who feels tortured by the dreadful lighting in elevators, doorways, and gyms—not that I go to the gym, just to clarify.”
“It’s just terrible lighting,” she added. “The sun is fine if it’s during sunset; I’m happy to step outside and wear a little hat or something.”
“It’s harmful, so you need to be cautious,” Carey continued. “But as for overhead lighting, I don’t think so, honey.”
“Please, stop it! Wherever I go, turn off the lights!” she exclaimed. “I can’t stand it anymore. Overhead lighting makes me feel ill!”
The “Fantasy” singer is scheduled to appear on Las Culturistas Podcast, with the episode releasing on Wednesday, October 16.
Her comments come after she reminded fans that it’s not yet time to kick off the “All I Want for Christmas” season.
On October 2, Carey posted a video of herself lounging in her private jet under a blanket while the jingle from her 1994 hit played in the background. In the clip, the pilot can be heard saying, “This is your captain speaking. Welcome aboard, Mariah — we are headed to the North Pole.”
