The “Queen of Christmas” has officially declared the start of the holiday season — and, naturally, she did it with a touch of diva flair and a dash of comedy.
While the rest of the world was still celebrating Halloween on October 31, Mariah Carey, 56, rang in the most wonderful time of the year by posting a new Instagram video featuring a cheeky skit with comedian Billy Eichner.
The clip opens with Carey dressed like a glamorous angel, complete with white wings, proclaiming, “Halloween slayed, but now it’s time!” Moments later, the camera pans to her vanity, where a Sephora bag — hinting at her latest holiday partnership — has been knocked over, with a few beauty products missing.
“Spill the tea. Who’s the thief?” Carey asks, before the culprit is revealed: Eichner, dressed as a mischievous elf caught sneaking off with several Sephora bags.
“Bad news, Mariah Carey,” he tells the pop legend. “The elves are striking this year — revenge for putting us through holiday hell. Santa’s helper quit!”
Holding up his loot, the 47-year-old comedian quips, “I’m pawning all this so I can afford elf therapy. Christmas is canceled — no bells, no cheer, no glam. Bye, sweetie.”
But Carey, ever the holiday heroine, isn’t about to let Christmas be canceled. With one powerful note, she freezes Eichner in his tracks and transforms him into a snowman, while her angelic costume morphs into a glittering red Santa suit trimmed with white fur.
The scene transitions into full festive fantasy: Carey rides a sleigh through the snow, tossing Sephora bags down chimneys as her timeless hit “All I Want for Christmas Is You” plays. Meanwhile, the animated snowman version of Eichner grumbles, “Oh, I’m a snowman now — just great!”
The video closes with Carey soaring past New York City’s Statue of Liberty as the words “It’s Time” shimmer in gold across the screen. The singer captioned the post simply: “It’s Time!!!🎄🎁”
