Megan Skiendiel ‘Heartbroken’ After Ankle Injury Forces Her to Miss KATSEYE Festival Performance

KATSEYE will be unable to take the stage at Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival after Megan Skiendiel was instructed to rest her injured ankle as the group prepares for its upcoming tour.
The global girl group announced the cancellation Thursday, Aug. 27, explaining that Skiendiel sprained her ankle the previous day while rehearsing. After being examined by medical professionals, the 20-year-old singer and dancer was told to avoid putting weight on the injury and give it enough time to recover before KATSEYE begins its tour.
“We’re so incredibly sorry to share that we are unable to perform at Daisy Chain Fields this Saturday. Megan sprained her ankle yesterday during tour rehearsal and after being evaluated by doctors, she has been advised to stay off it and allow it to properly heal so we can be ready for our upcoming tour,” KATSEYE World said in a statement shared on Instagram.
The group said the decision was especially difficult because of how much they had been anticipating the festival. Beyond performing, KATSEYE expressed excitement about being part of an event centered on an all-female lineup and a broader message of community and joy.
“We know how much our fans were looking forward to seeing us, and it breaks our hearts to disappoint anyone who made plans to be there,” the group said. “We were especially excited for Daisy Chain Fields because it’s not just about music, but the greater mission of joy and community.”
Skiendiel also addressed fans following the announcement. Sharing a message on her Instagram Story, she described herself as “heartbroken” about having to miss the event.
“I’m heartbroken to miss Daisy Chain Fields, especially because of everything this festival stands for,” she wrote.
Daisy Chain Fields also confirmed that KATSEYE would no longer be appearing at the festival. In an Instagram post, organizers said Skiendiel was recovering from her sprained ankle and sent her wishes for “a smooth and speedy recovery.” The festival has since added Devon Again to its 2026 lineup.
KATSEYE was originally scheduled to perform at 2:15 p.m. on the Dandelion Stage, with its set positioned between performances by Santigold and Mitski. Following the group’s withdrawal, organizers revised the schedule, moving Santigold into KATSEYE’s former time slot.
The cancellation comes during an especially active stretch for the group.
Earlier in August, KATSEYE made its official late-night television debut on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, performing “Animal.” Just two days later, the group appeared on the TODAY Show Concert Series in New York City, where they performed “Hootie Frutti” and “Animal” for the crowd outside the TODAY Plaza.
The members also took part in Spotify’s KLUB KATSEYE promotional event during the month. There, they performed “Gnarly” and gave fans the first live performance of “That Way.”
On Aug. 16, KATSEYE made a surprise appearance at Disney’s D23 Legends Ceremony. The group performed “I Won’t Say (I’m in Love)” from Hercules as a tribute to Susan Egan.
Despite the latest setback, KATSEYE has plenty on its calendar. The group recently scored its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with WILD and is preparing for its upcoming The WILD WORLD Tour.
The tour is scheduled to begin in Dublin on Sept. 1. KATSEYE will then travel throughout the U.K. and Europe until mid-September before launching the North American portion of the trek, which begins Oct. 13 in Miami and includes 18 cities.
At this point, it has not been announced whether Skiendiel’s ankle injury will result in any changes to the group’s upcoming tour schedule.
