Paramore Expresses Gratitude to Taylor Swift for Inviting Them on the Eras Tour: ‘We Loved Performing for the Swifties’

Paramore has served as an opening act for several Eras Tour shows since the tour began on March 17, 2023.
The Eras Tour was a memorable experience for Paramore.
The pop/rock band, which opened for several shows on Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, took to Instagram after their final performance on August 20 in England to express their gratitude to the “Karma” singer and her fans.
“@TaylorSwift, Thank you for inviting us to be part of such an incredible moment in your life and career,” the band, consisting of vocalist Hayley Williams, guitarist Taylor York, and drummer Zac Farro, wrote alongside a photo of them with Swift, 34.
Paramore expressed their enthusiasm, saying, “Performing for the Swifties was a delight, and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing your personal journey unfold through this tour.” They added, “We’ve genuinely grown fond of your entire team.”
Their message wrapped up with, “Congratulations on completing another segment of this monumental, record-setting tour. We adore you!”
Paramore initially joined the Eras Tour at its opening event on March 17, 2023, at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona. They later joined the European leg of the tour in May 2024, playing at numerous venues in cities such as Stockholm, Madrid, Dublin, Amsterdam, Zürich, Munich, and more, culminating in recent performances at Wembley Stadium in London.
During the tour, Williams, 35, made a surprise appearance with Swift on June 22 at Wembley Stadium, where they performed their Speak Now vault track, “Castles Crumbling.”
Swift hinted at the collaboration, saying, “While re-recording, I reached out to artists who have significantly influenced my music and songwriting. For the Speak Now album, I contacted some of these influential artists.”
Williams, known for her song “Fortnight,” shared, “I invited an artist I’ve admired for a long time to feature on one of the tracks, and she agreed. London, we’re incredibly fortunate because when I asked Hayley Williams to join this show, she said yes.”
Swift and Williams first crossed paths in 2008 when both were nominated for the Best New Artist Grammy. Williams shared with PEOPLE in December that soon after they became friends, Swift supported her through an uncomfortable situation by accompanying her to her ex’s wedding. They ended up having a great time and later sneaked away to the Cheesecake Factory.
Their friendship has endured over the years. Williams recalled how Swift recently reached out during a difficult period, offering support, humor, and advice that felt like perfectly crafted lyrics. “She’s incredibly funny and a blast to be around,” Williams noted.
The Eras Tour is slated to run until December 8, featuring Gracie Abrams as the opening act for its second North American leg.
