Pink later shared a video on Instagram denying the breakup rumors, dismissing them as “fake news.”

Pink and her husband, Carey Hart, are reportedly separating after two decades of marriage, according to a source who spoke with PEOPLE.

A representative for Pink declined to comment, while Hart’s representative did not immediately respond. However, on Thursday, Feb. 26, Pink addressed the rumors in an Instagram video, denying the reports.

“I just found out that I’m supposedly separated from my husband,” she said. “I had no idea. Thanks for the heads-up. Do you want to tell our kids too? My 14- and 9-year-olds don’t know either.”

She added, “Do you want to discuss my achievements, or are you only interested in my supposed downfall? This is fake news, not true. Love you all.”

The “Trustfall” singer, 46, and the former professional motocross racer, 50, are parents to two children: Willow Sage, 14, and Jameson Moon, 9.

Pink, born Alecia Moore, and Hart first met at the 2001 Summer X Games in Philadelphia. They had an on-and-off relationship before Hart proposed in 2005, and the couple wed in Costa Rica in January 2006.

The pair experienced their first separation two years later but maintained an amicable relationship. Hart even appeared in Pink’s music video for her hit song “So What,” which drew inspiration from their split. In spring 2009, they reconciled and called off their separation.

“We’re rebuilding,” Hart told PEOPLE at the time. “Sometimes you need to take a few steps back to move forward.”

In 2021, Pink gave fans an inside look at her family life both at home and on tour through her Prime Video documentary All I Know So Far. That same year, in a PEOPLE cover story, she discussed the challenges she and Hart faced over the years, explaining that they participated in both individual therapy and couples counseling.

“Long-term relationships aren’t easy. It’s simpler to stay in the good days or hop from one relationship to another, avoiding recurring problems,” Pink said. “Ultimately, you have to work on yourself; you can’t fix someone else. Relationships have highs and lows.”

She also shared, “Expecting to grow at the exact same pace and in the exact same direction as someone else is unrealistic. Relationships require effort to redefine priorities. My main goal has always been to keep my family together, especially after experiencing a broken family. Sometimes, you need to let go. You can’t fight every battle.”

In 2023, Pink again spoke with PEOPLE about the importance of staying committed through life’s challenges.
