Rod Stewart is parting ways with his extensive collection of Italian sports cars, and the reason might come as a surprise.

The British rocker announced that he would be letting go of his cherished cars, including his Ferraris and Lamborghinis.
Rod Stewart has made the difficult decision to part with some of his prized “works of art.”
On Wednesday, Nov. 14, the 79-year-old British singer shared on Instagram that he would be giving up his cherished collection of Italian sports cars, including Ferraris and Lamborghinis, due to the poor condition of the roads in his neighborhood.
“I am extremely fortunate and eternally grateful to be the owner of these five beautiful hybrid sports cars, which, in my opinion, are true ‘works of art,'” Stewart wrote, alongside a photo of him standing in front of his colorful cars lined up on a tree-lined street.
“Unfortunately, because of the potholes on our roads, I may have to find new owners for them,” he continued. “I’ve been driving these iconic Italian cars since the seventies, and I absolutely love and adore them.”
Stewart ended the post with a message for his fans: “This post is for my fans—thank you, as you are the sole reason I own them. 🤩 And to all the trolls… don’t bother; I never read the comments.”
The “Do Ya Think I’m Sexy?” musician has been open about his passion for his sports cars, regularly sharing posts and updates on social media about his Ferraris, Lamborghinis, and other vehicles over the years.
Stewart has also voiced his frustrations with the state of British roads, particularly due to the potholes. In fact, his irritation led him to take action in 2022 when he personally filled in a few potholes near his Essex home.
In March 2022, Stewart posted a series of amusing videos on Instagram where he could be seen patching up the potholes himself, wearing a construction vest over an Adidas tracksuit, while a crew worked in the background.
In one video, the “Maggie May” singer is seen shoveling as he humorously declares, “I’m repairing the street where I live, because no one can be bothered to do it.”
Stewart captioned the post, “Working for a living, filling holes is good for the soul! 🕳 😇.”
In another clip, he points out the numerous potholes and explains why he decided to take matters into his own hands.
“The other day there was an ambulance with a burst tire,” Stewart says in the video. “My Ferrari can’t get through here at all, so me and the boys thought we’d come and do it ourselves.”
