Shakira to Giveaway the Car She Bought After Her Split from Gerard Piqué to One Lucky Fan

On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the Colombian superstar announced she would be giving away her customized purple car — a meaningful gift she bought for herself following her split from ex Gerard Piqué. The giveaway, which celebrates her latest single Soltera (Spanish for “single”), is a heartfelt thank you to her fans for their overwhelming love and support.
“This car was a gift to myself as I began my single life, but I realized that what truly matters is human connection,” Shakira shared in a press release.
The Hips Don’t Lie singer further emphasized, “The car, the clothes, the material things — they don’t transform us. It’s the people we love and the connections we build that truly make a difference.”
To enter Shakira’s contest, fans must upload a dance video to her song Soltera on Instagram or TikTok using the hashtag #ElCarroDeShakira by Nov. 29. Shakira will then select five finalists, and the public will vote for the winner on Dec. 5. The winner will be announced on Despierta América on Dec. 6.

Soltera, released on Sept. 25, has already made its way onto the Global Top 50 on Spotify. Shakira’s album Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran (Women Don’t Cry Anymore) also recently earned a Grammy nomination for Best Latin Pop Album.
In October, Shakira reflected on how her music has helped her heal in a GQ Spain cover interview. She shared, “For many months after my separation, I had been silent, trying to begin my mourning, but I couldn’t really begin to grieve until I started writing music. It was my way of healing. And it continues to be. Grief is a process that is not linear. It is full of peaks and valleys.”
The breakup also impacted Shakira’s view on love. She explained, “It’s not the same. The love of a partner disappointed me. It affected my idiosyncrasy. It’s inevitable, at least for the moment, that I have lost trust in the other.”
Despite the emotional toll, she humorously added that this loss of trust has inspired plenty of new material. “The healing process is long. It will take me several albums!” Shakira shared with the outlet.
