Snoop Dogg helped save 61-year-old Gail Bliss on The Voice by using his replay button after feeling a connection to the “spirit of his mother.”

Snoop Dogg sensed the presence of his late mother while on The Voice.
During the episode that aired on Monday, September 30, Snoop used his Coach Replay button for 61-year-old Gail Bliss, stating that his mother inspired him to make that decision.
After Bliss’s audition, which didn’t receive any chair turns, Snoop remarked, “The spirit of my mother is in me right now.”
He shared that his aunt’s name was also Gail, calling her one of his favorite relatives. “You couldn’t see me, but I had my hand like this the whole way,” Snoop, 52, explained, showing how he hovered over the button.
“But they added a piece to the puzzle this year called the Coach’s Replay… so if I were to push this button right now, you would be on my team,” he added.
Snoop then pressed the red button, prompting Bliss—who is the oldest contestant in the competition—to break into tears and jump with joy.
He embraced her warmly, saying, “My mother’s spirit is all in you right now.”
Snoop added, “I was going to push, but I held off because I was waiting on Reba [McEntire]. I knew that if Reba pressed her button, I would lose.” He praised Bliss, noting, “She has stage presence and a look about her that screams superstar.”
When host Carson Daly inquired about what his mother conveyed to him in that moment, Snoop replied, “You need this woman on your team. You need some wisdom.”
In the season premiere last week, coach Reba McEntire pressed her button for contestant Kendall Eugene, which moved Snoop to tears.
“I love that song Kendall was singing. Once the song ended, I felt a bit numb. Deep down, I knew I wanted him on my team. I’m really thankful for the Coach Replay button; it gives us coaches a second chance when we realize we’ve missed a moment,” McEntire explained.
Snoop’s mother, Tate, passed away in October 2021 at the age of 70 due to undisclosed health issues. Following her death, the rapper honored her with a series of heartfelt tributes.
