Taylor Swift Drops Showgirl-Inspired Spotify Playlist in Anticipation of Upcoming Album Reveal

Swift is set to unveil her album cover during an appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend Travis Kelce and his brother Jason.
Taylor Swift is keeping fans entertained while they await her next album drop.
In the early hours of Tuesday, Aug. 12, billboards lit up in both Nashville and New York City, leading fans to discover a brand-new Spotify playlist from the 35-year-old superstar.
The playlist — titled And, baby, that’s show business for you! — follows Swift’s reveal of the name of her forthcoming 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl. True to Swift’s knack for symbolic numbers, the collection features 22 tracks.
The setlist includes fan favorites like “22” and “We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together” from Red, “Blank Space” and “Style” from 1989, “…Ready For It?” and “Delicate” from Reputation, along with “Message in a Bottle (Taylor’s Version) (From the Vault)” from Red (Taylor’s Version). Many of the songs were produced by Max Martin and Shellback, Swift’s frequent collaborators on Red, 1989, and Reputation — perhaps hinting at sonic influences for the upcoming record.
While details on her new collaborators remain under wraps, fans won’t have to wait long for more clues. Swift is set to debut the album’s cover art on New Heights, the podcast hosted by her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, and his brother Jason Kelce.
In a teaser for the Wednesday, Aug. 13 episode, Swift playfully tells Travis that blue suits him, prompting his reply: “It’s the color of your eyes, sweetie. That’s why we match so well.” She later appears in another clip with the brothers, carrying a mint-green briefcase adorned with her orange initials. Opening it, she tells Jason, “I wanted to show you something… this is my brand new album, The Life of a Showgirl,” before revealing a blurred-out cover that’s already available for preorder on her website.
This album news comes just months after Swift confirmed she had officially regained ownership of her first six albums, which were previously sold to Scooter Braun.
“I’ve been bursting into tears of joy at random intervals since finding out this is really happening,” she shared on Instagram back on May 30. “I finally get to say these words: All of the music I’ve ever made… now belongs to me. And not just the songs — the music videos, concert films, album artwork, photography, unreleased tracks, the memories, the magic, the madness — every era. My entire life’s work.”
