Olivia Rodrigo has shared insights into her 21st birthday celebration.

During the opening night of her Guts World Tour in Palm Springs, the 21-year-old “Vampire” singer disclosed that after turning 21, she decided to purchase certain items from a gas station simply because she could.

“I went to the gas station the other day and bought a pack of cigarettes and a six-pack of beer,” she revealed during the performance, clarifying that she didn’t intend to consume them. “I promise I didn’t consume it, but I just bought it because I could.”

Footage of the event, posted on TikTok, captured her remarks, where she further reflected on the experience of aging. “Anyway, all this to say that I think growing up isn’t so scary after all and life just kind of gets better at the end,” she shared before transitioning into her song “Teenage Dream.”

On Monday, Rodrigo took to her Instagram to share snapshots of her commemorating the significant birthday with her friends, among them Tate McRae, Iris Apatow, Conan Gray, and The Kid LAROI.

In the series of images she posted, the singer was seen posing with her companions, displaying her funfetti cake, and blowing out candles on it and other cakes adorned with candles. Notably, the star’s rumored boyfriend, Louis Partridge, was absent from the party photos.

For the special occasion, Rodrigo donned a plunging backless black dress with cut-out sides and a halterneck top. She complemented her attire with a chic updo, red lipstick, and hoop earrings.

“Today is my last day of being able to underage drink (hypothetically) !!!!” the “Deja Vu” hitmaker captioned her post.

The next day, she continued the celebration with an even grander four-layered cake adorned with a heart that bore the words, “spill ur guts,” paying homage to her Guts album released in September of the previous year. Rodrigo shared some jubilant snapshots in an Instagram post.

In another photo within the post, Rodrigo was depicted seated among balloons, enjoying cake, while a video captured her jumping up and down in excitement upon being presented with her special cake. Additionally, the musician shared a throwback snapshot of herself as a child wearing a handmade birthday hat.

“21!!! so grateful for all of the incredible things I’ve been able to experience so far and so excited for all the good times ahead💓💓💓 thx 4 all the love💋,” Rodrigo expressed in the caption.
