Tina Knowles recently took a nostalgic journey, reminiscing about her children’s early years.

In a video shared on her Instagram page on May 26, Knowles, aged 70, reflected on her fondest memories of her children and affectionately referred to Beyoncé, Solange, and Kelly Rowland as her “three girls.”

“Beyoncé, she was very shy and faced some bullying, but the day she stood up for someone — not herself, but for them,” Tina recounted emotionally. “I’m getting choked up talking about it. I couldn’t have been prouder of her.”

Knowles, who shares Beyoncé, 42, and Solange, 37, with her ex-husband Mathew Knowles, then shared her cherished childhood memory of her second daughter.

“Solange’s standout moment was when she was in fifth grade and took the initiative to gather signatures for a petition at school,” Knowles recounted proudly. “She’s always had that activist spirit.”

Referring to Rowland, 43, as her third daughter, Knowles fondly reminisced earlier this month on Today with Hoda & Jenna about Rowland coming to live with the family at the age of 11. “That’s my baby,” she affectionately added.

Rowland’s mother, Doris Rowland Garrison, passed away in December 2014 at the age of 66.

“Kelly was always the kid who sought to protect everyone,” Knowles continued. “I vividly recall her acting as a mediator with her best friend Barbara, embodying the role of a little peacemaker.”

“Each child is unique! Yet, all equally special. I believe that kids are born with their distinct personalities. My three girls each handled things differently,” the fashion designer shared in the caption of the video. “Understand their personalities and honor their individuality. Avoid comparing negatives; instead, celebrate their positive differences and take note of the aspects you can proudly boast about. They appreciate it, and it fosters positive behavior.”

Knowles’ remarks follow her recent disclosure of what Beyoncé and Solange’s children call her during an appearance on Today with Hoda & Jenna earlier this month.

“They call me ‘Grandma,'” said Knowles.

“It’s the best. With grandkids you don’t have the pressure of taking responsibility for how they get to turn out, so you get to just indulge them and let them have noisy toys that drive their parents crazy,” she joked. “It’s just the best. They are the best. My grandkids are all super creative and I just love them to death.”

While Beyoncé shares daughter Blue Ivy, 12, and twins Rumi and Sir, 6, with husband JAY-Z, Solange is mom to 19-year-old son Daniel ‘Juelz’ Smith Jr. with her ex-husband Daniel Smith.
