Usher delivered a memorable performance of classic hits at the Superdome in New Orleans on July 6.

Usher impressed fans at the 2024 Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans with a special performance of his entire Confessions album to celebrate its 20th anniversary. His set, which included hits like “Caught Up,” “Bad Girl,” and “Burn,” featured a church sanctuary-themed stage with a full choir and glowing cross bearing his name and album title. The R&B icon concluded the unforgettable performance with a surprise giveaway of tickets to his upcoming Past Present Future tour and ended with his hit song “Yeah!”

Usher headlined the Essence Festival of Culture in New Orleans alongside Janet Jackson and Birdman, with performances also featuring Lil Wayne, Busta Rhymes, Victoria Monét, and The Roots.

Usher’s acceptance speech for his Lifetime Achievement honor at the BET Awards was partially cut due to audio issues, leading to some controversy. BET later apologized for the audio malfunction during the broadcast.
